Last week we published a
report of the death of Davis Gregory, who died in his 90th year at the home of
a relative in Sumner County. We
commented that we were not positive of his line of descent, but we thought he
was a descendant of Billy Gregory, who was a pioneer settler in the Wolf Hill
section of the present Trousdale County.
This has since been verified.
Davis Gregory was the son of William Gregory, as we reported last week. William Gregory was the son of Arch Gregory,
son of John, son of old Billy Gregory, above mentioned.
We are indebted to Jack
Gregory, of Gallatin, who is nearly 90 years old and a member of the same
family as Davis Gregory, for the above information. We extend our sincere thanks.
