Response to Joseph Griffith story

The Joseph Griffith story has stirred more comment and response than any of the stories in the 22 issues of the Chronicle since it began in 1989. We've had requests for copies of the Chronicle from as far away as California. It seemed to be most helpful to those folk researching genealogy. For some, the pictures that accompanied the story were the only pictures they had seen of their grandparents and great-grandparents. Pictures continue to come in and we are desperately hoping for a picture of Revolutionary War soldier Joseph Griffith to be found. The picture that accompanies this follow-up that is reported to be the wife or Revolutionary War soldier Joseph Griffith, Phebe Hudson Griffith, is the oldest picture we've had given to us thus far. We are interested in printing pictures of children and grandchildren of Joseph Griffith, as well as, further information concerning descendants of this old fellow who can be directly credited (or blamed, as the case may be), for the Griffiths of Scott County.

This photo was submitted by Bessie Jolly, who reports her mother, Lettie Bowling, had the picture for years and believed it to be Phebe Hudson Griffith, wife of Revolutionary War soldier Joseph Griffith. The lady in the photo went by the name "Feb".
