The fourth annual Scott Co, TN Researchers Get Together occurred 17 Jun 2004 at the First Trust and Savings Bank in Oneida, TN. Below are pictures of some of the participants. About 45 people show up for this event, almost doubling last year's event, with many coming from out of town though there was still considerable local involvement. We had visitors from several states to include Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. This year we invited Tom des Jeans, a park ranger from the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area (BSFNRRA) to talk to us about the history of Scott Co. The out of towners enjoyed his presentation while the locals were more interested in exchanging information, as might be expected. Again, this was a fun get together and a great way to meet and develop new friends. Lots of pictures were exchanged. Lots of information was exchanged. And lots of renewed friendships. We plan to do it again next year though maybe in a different place. We are outgrowing the bank's community room. The exact date will be posted here and on the TNSCOTT mailing list once we firm up the logistics.
Please send me your pictures you took of the get-together so I can include them here as well.
