This is a very informative site.
THE INFLATION CALCULATOR
If you are ever reading a will of your
ancestor and want to know how much the monetary amounts mean in today's
terms, then go to the web site above and find the Inflation
Calculator. This Calculator was posted to the web by Morgan Friedman
and covers values from 1800 to 1998. I found it quite interesting
and fun! You can also put in an amount in today's terms and figure
out what value it would have been in 820 or any other year.
Example: If your ancestor left an inheritance of $500.00 in
1850, that amount would be worth $9569.74 today.
