James Edward (Jim) Haynes was the first child of Isaac H. Haynes and Tabitha J. Beesley. He was born in Tennessee on July 07, 1850.
Jim married Sally E. Anderson in Bedford County, Tennessee on February 09, 1870 (see Bedford County Marriage Records--Book B, Pages 127 & 128).
Jim and Sally had ten children born of their union. They were:
* Tabitha J. Haynes
* Mary B. Haynes
* Infant Daughter Haynes
* Lew Beesley Haynes
* Emma T. Haynes
* Annie R. Haynes
* Minnie E. Haynes
* Isaac Haynes
* Henry Carter Haynes
* Allie Matt Haynes.
Sally died March 25, 1894 and several of the children died shortly after their mother. According to family, the spring from which the family had been drinking became contaminated and several in the family caught typhoid fever and died. Tabitha was 23 years old when she died, Mary was 26 and Lew was 38. No death records have been found on the children.
After surviving his wife and several of his children, Jim died at 76 years of age March 26, 1927 (date taken from Death Certificate from the Bureau of Vital Statistics--State of Tennessee). The cause of death as noted on the death certificate is "sarcoma on face" and notes that James was buried in the family graveyard (believed to be the Blackman Cemetery #1) on old Haynes homeplace on Shores Road in Rutherford County, Tennessee.
