To all to whom their presents shall come greeting. Know ye that by virtue of part of Certificate No. 288 dated 23rd day of September 1810 assigned by the Register of West Tennessee to John Childress and entered on the 28th day of January 1816 by No. 12070 There is granted by the said State of Tennessee unto John Long assignee of the said John Childress a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred acres by survey bearing date the 18th day of June 1816 lying in Robertson County in the first District in the barrens and recorded as follows to wit Beginning about eighty poles North West from the house where the said Long now lives formerly Mrs. Gilberts at a black oak running East one hundred and sixty poles to a hickory, Thence South one hundred poles to a hickory thence West one hundred and sixty poles to a black oak, thence North one hundred poles to the Beginning With the Herediments and appurtenances. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said John Long and his heirs forever. In Witness whereof Joseph McMinn Governor of the State of Tennessee hath hereunto set his hand and caused the great seal of the State to be affixed at Nashville on the sixth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen and of the Independence of the United States the fortieth.
