This indenture made and entered into between Joseph McCormack of the County of Robertson and state of Tennessee of the one part and Adam Grimes of the other part of the county and state aforesaid as witnesseth that the said Joseph McCormack for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred dollars($300) to him in hand paid by the said Adam Grimes before the signing or delivering of these presents to the receipt whereof as hereby acknowledged hath bargained, sold, granted, sold, alien and confirm and conveyed and by these presents bargain sell alien and confirm and convey to the said Adam Grimes his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in Robertson County and State aforesaid on the Waters of Spring Creek it being a part of a 640 acre tract of land the number of Warrent 2580.
Beginning at William J. Perry's North East corner and joining Sanders Northwest corner on a hickory, Thence west with said Perry's line 80 poles a dogwood and black gum, Thence north 8 1/2 poles to a sassafras and dogwood, Thence South 8 1/2 poles to Red Oak, Thence West forty one [41] poles to a poplar, Thence north 168 poles to a dogwood, Thence East 86 poles to a hickory, Thence South to the beginning.
Supposed to contain eight nine and one fourth (89.25) acres, be the same more or less contained in the above description with all advantages hereditaments, or appurtenances thereunto belong the right title of the said Adam Grimes. I Joseph McCormack do bind myself my heirs executors and Administrators or assigns to seal deliver and warrant and do by this and do by these presents bind myself my heirs and assigns to warrant and forever defend the before? recited? land and premises from the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever and I do acknowledge Adam Grimes to be the lawful owner of all the advantages that may ever arise from said land and him and his heirs is leased and possessed of the same from this day forward forever. In witnesseth of the above Contract I have hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this 29th day of Nov 1836.
