E. S. Howard to Joshua Arnold 8 Aug 1863.
         I E. S. Howard of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee have this day bargained and sold and do by these presents transfer and convey to Joshua Arnold for the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid, the receipt whereof I hereby acknowledged, a certain tract of land lying and being situated in the County of Robertson and State of Tenn adjoining the land of Wm Meguire on the South and West and my lands on the North East, butted and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at a hickory Wm Meguire North West Corner of the M. J. Williams tract, running East 18 1/2 poles to a Stake & pointers, thence North 81 poles to a stake & persimmon pointers, Thence West 18 1/2 poles to a Stake & pointers, thence South with Wm. Meguires line 81 poles to the beginning. Containing by J. B. Edwards survey ten acres be the same more or less. To have and hold the same to the said Joshua Arnold and his heirs forever and I bind myself and all legal Representatives to forever Warrant and defend the title and right of the same against the lawful claims of all persons, whatever. Given under my hand and seal this August 8th 1863. Rec'd 8 August 1863 at 2 o'clk PM.
