I E. S. Howard of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee have this day bargained and sold a certain tract of land or parcel, lying in the 2nd civil dist of the County of Robertson Tenn, to Joshua Arnold of the County of Simpson and State of Ky, for about sixteen dollars per acre in hand paid and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning on a black Jack, thence South 50 poles to a small hickory in a sink, thence East 90 poles to a stone in the road, Thence North 50 poles to a black Jack, thence 6 poles further North to a stake or stone, thence West 116 3/4 poles to a black Jack, thence South 6 poles to a post oak, thence East 26 3/4 poles to a black Jack, the Beginning corner of said survey, containing by estimation 35 acres, to be the same more or less, To have and to hold the same to the said Joshua Arnold and his heirs forever, and I bind myself & all legal representatives to forever Warrant and defend the right and title of the Same against the lawful claims of all persons whatever , Given under my hand & seal this 5th day of August 1863. Personally appeared before me R. H. Murphey Clk of the County Court of Said County, the within named E. S. Howard the bargainer with whom I am personally acquainted & acknowledged that he executed the annexed instrument for the purpose therein contained.
