         This Indenture made this seventeenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty between Webster Gilbert of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the one part & Thomas Baird of the other part of the County and State aforesaid Witnesseth that the said Webster Gilbert for the consideration of the sum of four hundred Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Thomas Baird the receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents with grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey & confirm unto the said Thomas Baird his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land containing eighty acres be the same more or less situated and lying in the County of Robertson & State aforesaid on the waters of Red River Beginning at two white oaks & hickory running West one hundred and forty poles to a hickory & black oak, thence South seventy poles to a black oak and post oak, thence East one hundred & forty poles to a stake in Strains line, thence South seventy poles to the Begining. To have and to hold the said tract of land with all its appertances & every privilege and ________suluments thereto belonging to the only use benefit and behoof of his the said Thomas Baird his heirs and afsigns forever and the said Webster Gilbert for hisself his heirs Executors administrators doth hereby covenant promise and agreed to and with the said Thomas Baird his heirs and afsigns that unto them he will warrant and forever defend the above mentioned land and premises against the just claim or claims of all manner of ______ ssures whatsoever whereby the premises above mentioned may be incumbered or affected contrary to the true intent and meaning of these presents. In Witness whereof the said Webster Gilbert doth hereunto set his hand and affix his seal the day and year first above written.
