         I F. R. Durrett have this day bargained sold & do hereby transfer and convey to D. L. Durrett & his heirs forever, for the consideration of Eighty seven dollars & fifty cents to me paid, a tract of land in the State of Tenn Robertson County district No ten containing by estimation ten acres, be the same more or less, & bounded as follows. Beginning on a hickory F. R. Durrett corner on the S side of Beaver Dam Creek, running N 59 rods to a rock, thence E 26 rods to a rock; thence S 58 rods to a stake on Beaver Dam Creek, thence with the meanders of the creek to the beginning. To have and to hold the same to the said D. L. Durrett his heirs and assigns forever. I do bind myself & representatives to warrant and defend the title to the said land and every part thereof to the said D.L. Durrett his heirs & assigns against the lawful claim of all persons whatever, this 2nd day of May 1870.

         Personally appeared before me R.H. Murphey Clerk of the County Court of said County the above named F.R. Durrett the bargainer, with whom I am personally acquainted, and who acknowledged that he executed the annexed instrument for the purposes therein contained. Witness my hand at office this 2nd day of May 1870.
