May 5th 1826
This Indenture made the 26 of November 1825 between Jobe W. Crabtree of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the one part and John Chowning of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Jobe W. Crabtree for and consideration of the sum of five hundred and twenty nine dollars to him in hand paid by the said Chowning the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold and conveyed to the said Chowning a certain tract or parcel of or parcel of land containing one hundred and twenty acres being bounded as follows Viz. Beginning at the creek on the ford, Fishes corner thence south forty three poles to a stake in the lane thence east four poles to a stake thence twenty tow poles to white oak thence east thirty seven poles to a black gum thence south one hundred and fourteen poles to red oak thence east eighty nine poles to a poplar thence north one hundred & seventy six poles to the creek thence down the meander of the same to the beginning to have the above bargained premises to the proper use of him the said Chowning his heirs and assigns forever, the said Crabtree doth by these presents agree to warrant and defend the above bargained premises against the lawful claim or claims of all manner of persons whatever for which the said Crabtree bonds himself this heirs and assigns forever in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date above written.

This indenture from Jobe W. Crabtree to John Chowning was proven in open Court by the oath of Patrick Patterson & Benjamin Patterson subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be registered.
