         This Indenture made this twenty third day of March in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty two Between John P. Chambers of the first part, and Francis R. Durrett of the other as witnesseth that I John P. Chambers of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of forty three dollars and fifty cents to me in hand paid hath given granted bargained sold unto Francis R. Durrett his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land in Robertson County, Tennessee on the Beaver Dam Creek the tenth Civil District bounded as follows: Beginning at the Branch running East with said Durrett line thirty two and three fourths poles to a stake in said Chambers line, thence North eighteen ¼ poles to a maple on the bank of the Branch, thence with the meanders of the Branch downward twenty three poles to a sycamore, thence West 40 degrees South up the ??? to the Beginning, four and one fourth acres, to have and to hold from me my heirs & assigns forever, I bind myself my heirs Executors & adm’r forever to Warrant and defend the same against the lawful claim of all and every person lawfully claiming, but unto said [blank] his heirs assigns forever. In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and affisce (sic) my seal this day & date above written.

         Personally appeared before me Joseph E. Winfield clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid John P. Chambers the bargainor in the foregoing deed with whom I am personally acquainted who acknowledges in my presences that he Executed the same for the purposes therein contained. Given under my hand at Office 9th June 1842.
