To all persons whom these presents shall come I Richard Arnold do send greeting know ye that I the said Richard Arnold of the County of Bedford and State of Tennessee for & in consideration of the love, good will and affection which I have and do bear towards my loving son John H. Arnold of the State aforesaid and County of Robertson have given and granted and by these presents do freely give and grant unto the said John H. Arnold his heirs, Executors & Adm'r a Negro Boy by the name of Bason of which before the signing of these presents I have delivered him to the said John H. Arnold to have & hold the said Boy by the name Bason his heirs, Executors or Administrators from henceforth as his and their lawful property (______) without any (_____) of conditions. Witness where for I have hereunto put my hand & seal this twenty third of March one thousand Eight hundred and twenty two.
