In the name of God Amen
         I Amos Moore of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee being weak in body but possing my usual strength of mind Well Knowing that it is appointed for all men to die and by the blessing, of an all wise providince I have accumulated a portion of this World substance and am desirous to dispose of the same do therefore make & Constitute this to be my last Will and Testament as follows To wit,
         First I Will my soul to Almighty God who gave it and my body to be consigned to the tomb to be buried in a decent Christian burial
         Secondly I Will and bequeath that all my Just debts be paid out of my Estate should any exist at my death together my funeral Expense;
         Thirdly I Will and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Silvy Moore the tract of land whereon I now live called the home tract together With the tract over the River together With the following Slaves to wit Hall, Jack, Simon, Jacob ____ Nance, Amis, and Pat, also all the crop on the place One Waggon three Mules and Mare called Sal one horse called G___nay all my Waggon gear all my stock of hogs accept as are herein otherwise devised One Spinning Machine, all my household and Kitchen furniture five places(?) and g___ five weeding hoes three Mattocks and four axes all my ____ and furniture all my notes and money after the payment of my Just debts and I do injoin it on my Wife as my Children leave her to give them cash one bed and furniture. I also give and bequeath unto my Wife the legacy coming from my father in laws estate to make my younger Children equal with my others.
         Fourthly I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Cinda Porter two negroes to Wit Philis & Ben and mare Bridle and Saddle two cows and Calves one yoke of oxen one bed and furniture to her and her kin forever
         Fifthly I give and bequeath unto my Son Alfred Moore one tract Of land containing one hundred and Seventy four acres Known by the name the James McDawell tract ______ with the ______ on _______ I once made also two negroes Sam + Jane One bed and furniture One horse bridle and saddle one Cow and Calf one yoke of oxen to him and his kin forever.
         Sixthly I give and bequeath unto my daughter Susan Pope two negroes Dave & Candis one mare Saddle and Bridle One bed and furniture one cow and calf to her and her ____ forever.
         Seventhly I give and bequeath to my Daughter Malinda Travis two negroes Prince & Philis one mare Saddle + bridle One bed and furniture one cow and calf to her + her _____ kin forever.
         Eighthly I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Permelia Barbee to negroes Peter and Mariah one bed and furniture one saddle and bridle. One Cow + Calf one Sow + Pigs to her and her kin forever.
         Ninethly I give and bequeath to my Son James Moore one tract of land that I bought of the Widow McDowall containing one hundred and Seventy four acres also two Negroes to Wit Anthony & Isaac. One bed and furniture one horse bridle and Saddle one cow and calf two sows and pigs to him his kin forever.
         Tenthly I give and bequeath to my Son Franklin Moore one tract of land that I bought of John Wilson containing one hundred and twelve acres also the fifty acre tract that I bought of Peter Johnson also and thirty _______ _____ surveyed by Peter Lawson of Kentucky also two Negroes to wit Race and Dinah one bed and furniture One horse Saddle and bridle one cow & calf two sows and Pigs to him and his kin forever.
         Eleventhly I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Harriet Moore two negroes _____ and Charity one bed and furniture one horse bridle and saddle, one cow + calf to her and her kin forever.
         Twelvth I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Amanda Moore two negroes Arch and Mary one bed and furniture one horse bridle and Saddle one cow and calf to her and her kin forever.
         Thirteenth I give and bequeath to my Son Amos Moore two negroes Daniel and Milly one bed and furniture one horse bridle and Saddle one cow and calf to him his kin forever.
         Fourteenth I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Martha Moore two negroes Willis and Jane, one bed and furniture one horse bridle and Saddle one cow and calf to her + her kin forever.
         Fifteenth I give and bequeath to my Daughter Louisa Moore two negroes Pleasant and Jane one bed and furniture one horse bridle and Saddle one cow and calf to her and her kin forever.
         Sixteenth I give and bequeath to my Daughter Lydia Moore one negro Caroline One bed and furniture one horse saddle and bridle One cow and calf to her and her kin forever.
         Seventeenth I give and bequeath unto my Son Calvin Moore one negro boy Elijah and I injoin it on my Wife to make him equal with the rest of my children out of the legacy bequeathed to her at her death or at his coming of age to him and his kin forever.
         Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my friend William Seal(?) Executor to this my last will and Testament
         In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Sixth day of September 1840

William Randolph
         A paper writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Amos Moore deceased was presented in open Court and thereupon came William Randolph a Subscribing Witness thereto(?) _____ Who being first sworn depose and say that he Was acquainted with Amos Moore in his life time and that he acknowledged the Execution of said paper writing in his presence to be his last Will and Testament and that he was in his proper mind and he attested the same at his request the same is therefore ordained(?) to be _____ And thereupon came William Seal(?) the Within named Executor and entered into bond in sum of twenty thousand dollars him and his securities acknowledging this bond and _____ Executor qualified according to law
