         Know all men by these presents that I John Cook of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee, being of sound mind and memory hath thought proper to dispose of the property wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in the following manner, to wit: I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Silvey Cook all my estate of all kind, after selling as much as will pay my just debts during her natural life for the use and purpose of raising my children. Only an feather bed & furniture I give and bequeath my Daughter Charlotte Cook, I say to her and her heirs for ever. I also give and bequeath to my son Nazareth Cook the colt that my bay mare is with fold with, I say to him and his heirs forever. I also give and bequeath to my son Augustine Cook, the before mentioned bay mare, I say to him and his heirs forever. And at the death of my wife Silvey I give and bequeath all that remains of my estate to my four youngest children, Clarry Cook, John Cook, Polly Cook, and Betsey Cook to be equally divided, I say to them and their heirs forever. Last of all I do nominate, constitute and appoint my ___ wife Silvey Cook and my brother Joel Cook my hole & sole Executor to this my last will and Testament ___ I do hereby revoke and disallow all wills and pacts of ___ this only I acknowledge to be my last will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty eight day of October 1805.
