A request from Chestnut Grove Church for the ordination of Bro Dixon Payne to the full work of the ministry was heard. The time set for his ordination was on the evening of May 31 at 8 oclock. Bro Moody conducted the examination which was entirely satisfactory and the Church ordered the ordination. Bro Moody preached from 2 till 2:15 the prayer was offered by Bro. Ball and the hands of presbytery were laid on. Bro Ball delivered the charge to the candidate and the benediction was pronounced by Bro Dixon Payne.

Whereas Rev. S. B. Ogle has resigned as pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church to take charge of the church at Huntington, Tn. Be it resolved:
First,
That under Bro. Ogles three years care, the church has had a wonderful growth, pastors salary greatly increased, missions doubled, many new members adopted and larger congregation than anytime in the history of the Church.
Second,
That the Church appreciates the loss of Bro Ogle as our teacher, but our loss will be a great gain of the Huntington Church and that when they know him they will love him.
Third,
That we congratulate the church at Huntington in securing the services of such a zealous, faithful and eloquent young man as their pastor and that we give him a unanimous call to come back and take charge of our church whenever possible.
Fourth,
That Bro Ogle be given a copy of these resolutions, a copy to be written in the minutes of our church, and that a copy be mailed the Baptist & Reflector for publication.
