For the purpose of continuing a Baptist Church Elders O. H. Morrow, B. Roberts & W. J. Morton and deacons Bottick and Milliken being present for the purpose aforesaid for and themselves into presbytery and chose Elder O. H. Morrow moderator and W. J. Morton Clerk and upon examinations of the members who proposed going into said constitution whose names are inserted below upon their standing as Church members and the said presbytery and ordained Constituted them into a church under the name and title of the Baptist Church at Pleasant Hill Tennessee for the profession of faith as published by the Bethel Association in there minutes the year 1847 which they adopted, To Wit, the whole was constituted by Bro. Roberts giving to the church the right hand of fellowship and Bro. Morrow speaking in (purpose)

Church met Saturday the fifteenth day of Sept 1849 and agreed to atach themselves to the Bethel Association by letter and delegate. Bro West appointed to write the letter and bare the same to the Association then received by experience Bro and sister Elijah & Elendor Arnol then on Sunday received sister Rachel West and black Bro Nelson (also) Paynes, Wrights, Arnolds, Buntons, and Stephen & Pattens, Martins.
the church met the 20th of Oct 1849 and agreed to attend the meeting at (Cusburgh), on the 14th of nov 1849 for the purpose of choosing a place for the College in the bounds of the Bethel Association, nov conference nothing done, Church met on Saturday the 18th nov 1849 and received bro Charles Wright by letter.
December nothing done, January, Feb March and April 1850 church met and nothing to do, on Sunday Church received a black brother by the name Jessy John Buntins by experience and was Baptized at may meeting 1850. Church met July 1850 on Saturday the 20th and declared unfellowship with Wright's Arnold for stealing wheat from his master and other conduct.
Church met August 1850 Saturday the 17th Bro Stephen came forward and gave satisfaction for what against him then agreed to apoint a delegate to the association Bros Arnold & Bro West & Webb was apointed and Daniel A. Webb to write the letter to the association
Church met September conference 1850 and agreed to record the Subscription for building of the Meeting House at Pleasant Hill Robertson County Tennessee in (Those) Church Book. Our protracted meeting commenced on the Wednesday after the fourth Saturday in Sept 1850 and continued nine days, in the time received ten by experience and nine Baptized and one received by letter sister Long was one of the ten and has not came to be Baptized as yet. Church met Oct 1850.
In conference and made house of Bro Morrow as the Pastor and Bro Morrow agreed to serve as the same.

Church met in conference June 5th Sunday 1851 received two cullord sisters of Jno Bunton by experience and by the name Hariet and Margaret and was Baptized the fifth Sunday in June 1851.
Our protracted meeting commenced the 19th of July 1851 and continued 5 days and in the time received sister Nancy Bigbee & Penny Hughlett by letter and received sister Manerva Murry by experience and to be Baptized when convenient, proseded to the ordination of the deacons the Presbytery composed of elders morrow, Baldwin, and West.
Church met August the 6th 1851 and Bro Morrow not being present Bro West proceeded, after survice Bro West chosen deacon, then open doors for receiving then received sister Mary (Duse) & Elizabeth Bigbee by experience to be Baptized when convenient, then received Bro William D. Cook by letter then received Bro Allen Groves by letter then retired to the water and Baptized sisters Long and Manerva Murry by Bro West, Bro West requested Liberty of the Church to (____) members at Bryley's School House in Sumner County.

Billingsby to change our meetings from third to the fourth Lords day in each month in the year, the vote taken and a large one (unity) opposed to the change,
Church met December 24th 1851 and a request handed in from Bethany Church by Bro Howard requesting us to change from the third Sunday to some other Sabbath in the month and so few of the members being present agreed to let it stand to the next conference meeting,

Weir was elected assistant Clerk, it was motioned by Bro Hughs and seconded by Bro Jones that we take up a collection every month to defray the expenses of the Church which motion was laid on the table Bro W. Weir were appointed a committee to settle with the Treasure the Clerk was to write the letter to the association the Church resolved to send one dollar to the association as a printing fund, July the 29th 1853 church doors were opened to received members and then Amanda A. Arnold and Martha M. Wright came forward joined by experience, July 30th 1853 Church doors opened to received members then Harriet A. Allen and Martha Payne came forward and joined by experience.

Monday August the 1st 1853 at the close of protracted meeting doors opened for the reception of members and Susan Arnold came forward and joined by experience and Caroline Barry by experience and (Goren) Wright by experience then retired to the water for Baptism and five were Emerced by Rev Bro Roberts,
Church met August Saturday before the fourth Lords day in 1853 and doors were opened for the reception of members but none came forward Bro Baldwin Mod. then the Church acted on the collection bill which was placed on the table of our last and past, then the committee to settle with the treasure which was done, then Bro West by request was released of being Treasure and Bro J. last lumber we agree to leave to Thomas West as we find no sale first done on Tuesday the 25th of October 1853. Bro Thomas West chairman of the committee, William Jones Clerk, Elijah Arnold and John J. Wright. Rec'd August 27th 1853 of Thomas West eighteen dollars and sixty cents in full for lumber for making seats for the Pleasant Hill Meeting House, G. Payne a copy of the receipt by the clerk D. Baldwin, Treasure reports the treasure of the church would respectfully report that since he came into office August 29th 1853 he has received twenty nine dollars and fifty cents that he paid one dollar for printing minutes for 1853, Seven dollars and forty cents for seats to furnish the house of Bro W. D. Baldwin, nineteen dollars and five cents to bro Johnes fifty cents to buy wire for commision, to Bro T. West eighty cents for printing minutes for 1854, making in all twenty eight dollars and seventy five cents all of which is respectfully submitted, J. D. Weir on motion and seconded

by Bro Hughs and Stringer were approved to reserve moneys for Bro Baldwin, it was by Bro Hughs & seconded by Bro Jones that Bro George Featherston be called to the pastoral case of the church which was unanimously passed and Bro J. W. Weir and Bro Jones to inform him he was chosen Pastor by letters

Saturday before the fourth Lords day in January 1856 Church met in Conference, First an opportunity was given to anyone who might be interested in joining the church, Second the report of the Treasure who reported and was accepted, Third the Treasure was directed to pay all monies in his hands to the Sexton which was one dollar & seventy-five cents, the report of the Treasurer of Pleasant Hill Church January 1856 - wold report that during the last year 1855 he received Thirty two dollars and eighty five cents for Bro Featherston Pastor of the church which he has handed to him also five dollars and fifty cents to defray church expenses and that was a balance of seventy five cents in the Treasury at the beginning of the year and he paid to Bro William Jones two dollars and five cents for wire, Bro J. M. Billingsbee and T. M. Montgomery one dollar and forty five cents and one dollar for printing minutes, leaving a balance in his hands of one dollar and seventy five cents of which is respectfully submitted, J. W. Preamble and resolutions adopted by Pleasant Hill Church Robertson County Tenn at their regular meeting in Feb 1863. Whereas the church having held an election for pastor on the fourth Saturday in Nov 1862, and whereas Elder G. W. Featherston name was used without his knowledge or consent thereby placing him in an unfavorable light before the church and community, it generally being understood by the church that he could not accept the care of the church if elected, We deem it right and proper in justice to him that we make a public explanation of the matter and adopt

the following resolutions and in so doing we do not cast any reflection on our present pastor,
1st Resolved that said vote did not express the feelings of the church toward Bro Featherston
2nd Resolved that Bro Featherston served us acceptably for several years as pastor and was instructmental in the rebuilding of the church and the increase of her membership
3rd Resolved that we regard Bro Featherston an able and worthy minister of the Gospel and we cordially invite him to fill our pulpit whenever he has the opportunity
4th Resolved that the above preamble and resolution be recorded upon our church book and a copy sent to Bro Featherston,
Brother George McMillin was charged with swearing & drunkenness, Bros J. J. Wright and Bolivar Payne were appointed a committee to investigate said charges and request him to come up and make his defense at our next meeting,
Bro William Long was charged with having been intoxicated which he being present acknowledged to be true but said he was sorry for it and asked the church to forgive him and pray for him and he would do better in future where upon the church received his acknowledgement and forgave him, Bro Alfred McAdams charged with swearing and fighting being present said it was true and that he was imposed on became greatly excited at the time and asked the forgiveness of the church which was granted,

P. D. Clark resigned his care of the church for the year 81 it was then mention that sister Martha Ragsdale wanted a letter from the church and the Clerk reported that her name had been erased from the Church book by her request the church ordered the Clerk to rite to her and to state the case to her on Sunday night, the protracted meeting was continued too weeks longer every night, no other business conference closed.

Roark that Bro Ben Pond came forward and give his reason for objection to sis Amanda Stringer having a letter and the motion was unanimously carried Bro Ben Pond came forward and read as follows, Bro this not as big a (leogaloe) as you think it is I have not got a naught against sis Amanda Stringer, the reason I object to her having a letter was the report that it is owt on me that I testified … The Circuit Court at Springfield I don't feel worthy to grant a letter in this condition and I would have objected to any other member of this Church having a letter as I did here until this report is settled, the objection was discust by J. W. Swan, and J. W. and C. W. Roark and on motion it was that we give sister Amanda Stringer a letter of dismission from the Church and it was unanimously carried not a dissenting vote against her the mod ordered the clerk to prepare the letter on motion it was that the mod appoint a committee to investigate and see whether or not these reports on Bro Ben Pond be true and report at the next conference meeting the committee was composed of C. W. Roark, J. W. Stark, W. W. Wright, W. H. Abernathy asked the membery of the Church to come out tonight and hear him preach his farewell sermon that he was a going to resign his pastoral

Swan made it nown to the Church that there were disputes about his opening the doors of the Church and receiving members and baptizing Bro Christopher Summerville wether he bin duly received in the Church and the hand of fellowship had bin extended to him at the last protracted meeting as some said he had no right to do so after the resignation of the present Pastor he ask the Church if he had done right with the exception of one member he the made affirmation of some unpleasant words that he said to Bro A. C. Pond at the election of Byram Dehart (he) and ask for forgiveness and the Church showed by a vote that they would forgive him Surv by J. W. Swan Surv opened by the reception of members J. F. Williams came forward and joined by experience J. W. Swan was elected mod for the day the minutes of the last

Pond read there report the report was received and the committee was released the Church said it was naul and void and throld it out of the Church as it was not of this Church Bro J. T. Pond Deacon, A. A. Pond and Christopher Summerville members of the Church was on (un-p) capable terms the mod ask Bro Summerville if he was willing to mead with Bro A. A. Pond and recognize him as a Bro and fellowship him a brother and if he would confess to any rong that he had done him since his conversion to Bro Pond Bro Summerville made some acknowledgement to him that mod declined acting or mod and put Bro J. A. Long in as mod on motion and it was carried that Bro A. A. Pond come forward and give his reasons for saying that there was (monthcrief) in the Church now all ready to eat it up and others had about done it and told who they may Bro Pond said he would not give his reasons now for he did not his paper and with him and he ask for

further time and carried that we give Bro A. A. Pond till the next meeting to give his reasons and to be reconciled with Bro Summerville on motion it was unanimously carried Bro J. W. Summerville was received in the Church by a vote neary vate against him on mondy knight on Sunday morning met at the river baptize A. D. Pond came to the river & read his objection to Summervilles being baptized in this Church because he cused him of forging a note & swearing lie & Pond sead there was moth anuf now all ready in the Church to eat it up & had about done it & Swan stated this difficulty was 4 years before Summerville profess religion he stated that he sent C. W. & J. W. Roark to the members of the Church to know what he may do to the Church sead go on with the Baptism the Church book will give you the reason we excluded Pond, J. W. Roark & C. W.
