The following information came from the Old Roane County Historical Society Newsletter<\/em>, Vol. 3, No. 7, October 1972<\/p>\n

Many persons in Roane County are descendants of Green and Sarah Cooper Bowers<\/strong>.  About 1825, Green Bowers<\/strong> came to Tennessee with his wife and at least part of his children.  Mrs. O. R. Heather<\/strong>, of Hamilton, Missouri sent [1972] the following information copied from the family Bible that belonged to James Mitchell Bowers<\/strong>, the youngest child of Green and Sarah Cooper Bowers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
