M. Lord<\/strong>, president; <strong>M. M. Duncan<\/strong>, first vice-president; <strong>S. F. Robinson<\/strong>, second vice-president; <strong>E. C. White<\/strong>, secretary and treasurer.&nbsp; The club will occupy quarters in its own two-story brick block, corner of Union and Tennessee avenues.<\/p>\n<p>A four inch iron pipe is being laid from <strong>Hembree<\/strong> spring to the top of the lofty eminence east of Lincoln street, where the 42,000 gallon water tank is being erected.<\/p>\n<p>The first mail child born in Cardiff was <strong>Thomas Cardiff<\/strong>, son of <strong>Luther Kearly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rutan<\/strong> &amp; <strong>Fraser<\/strong> are building ten comfortable homes on Lincoln avenue, near the <strong>McElwee<\/strong> house.<\/p>\n<p>Ground was broken Wednesday for <strong>H. M. Lord<\/strong>&#8216;s residence.<\/p>\n<p>A half dozen new houses are to go up at once through the instrumentality of the Cardiff Building and Loan association.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thomas Carter<\/strong> has erected a store on the corner of Rugby street and Georgia avenue.<\/p>\n<p>The Cardiff Building &amp; Lumber company is erecting 25 houses near the furnace site for the Cardiff Coal &amp; Iron company, to be occupied by the furnace crew.<\/p>\n<p>Work has begun on the concrete for the foundations for the big furnaces. The company has a big crew at work, and the work of excavation is virtually completed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>B. Weber<\/strong>, who has been connected with the paymaster department, has been selected to do the clerical work for the engineering corps.<\/p>\n<p>There is talk of having a full dress ball in Cardiff about September 1st.<\/p>\n<p>General Manager <strong>M. M.
