Note on original transcription:   This bible appeared in the Roane County Historical Society Newsletter<\/em>, Vol. 4, No. 5, May 1973.  It was contributed by Mrs. Willie Alma Moore<\/strong>, of Leeds, Alabama as follows:  From the Bible of Austin L. Green<\/strong>, owned by granddaughter Mrs. Neil Mahoney Duffy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Thomas Green<\/strong> died in Roane Co., Tenn. Oct. 18, 1842.
\nAmy Green<\/strong> died May 23, 1854.<\/p>\n

Austin L. Green<\/strong> was born in Pittslyvania Co., Va. On Friday, 5th day of July, 1811, 11th child of Thomas and Amy Keesee Green<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The death of Austin L. was written by Dr. Charles Wise Green<\/strong> (son of Austin).<\/p>\n

Austin L. Green<\/strong> died at his home, on his farm on Clinch River, Wednesday, Aug. 5th 1903, at 8:40 A.M. Aged 92 years and one month.<\/p>\n

Austin L. Green<\/strong> married Delila Crow<\/strong> on Tuesday the 15th of Sept. 1836 by Rev. Geo. Yost<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Children by first marriage<\/span><\/p>\n

1st Catherine was born Jan. 3, 1838 on Wed.
\n2nd Henry Pierce Green<\/strong> was born Oct. 1st 1839 on Tuesday.
\n3rd William C. Green<\/strong> was born Jan. 3rd 1842 on Sunday.
\n4th Leonidas B. Green<\/strong> was born Feb. 10th 1844 on Sunday.
\n5th Seraphine J. Green<\/strong> was born Jan. 3rd 1846 on Saturday.
\n6th Thomas A. Green<\/strong> was born Jan. 25th 1848 on Tuesday.
\n7th Rebecca C. Green<\/strong> was born June 8th 1849 on Sunday
\nDelilah died the birth of Rebecca – Crow<\/strong> grand-parents reared her, and moved to Texas.<\/p>\n

2nd Marriage<\/span><\/p>\n

Austin L. Green<\/strong> and Emily R. Prior<\/strong> formerly Emily R. Liggett<\/strong> married on Sunday evening Jan. 13, 1850 – She was born in Kingston, Roane Co., Tenn. May 26th 1821.<\/p>\n

Children<\/span><\/p>\n

1st Elizabeth Jane Green<\/strong> was born Jan. 21st 1851 Tuesday Morning.
\n2nd James Monroe Green<\/strong> was born May 23rd 1852, on Sunday.
\n3rd Willie S. Green<\/strong> was born Aug. 7th 1853, on Wednesday.
\n4th Sarah Josephine Green<\/strong> was born March 16th 1854 on Friday.
\n5th Cordelia Green<\/strong> was born Sept. 16th 1856 on Tuesday.
\n6th Austin Avery Green<\/strong> was born Feb. 21st 1858 on Sunday.
