John Faulkner Dies here Monday. John Faulkner, age 72. died at the home of his daughter, Mrs John Jolly , at 4:30 Monday afternoon after a week's illness. He is survived by Mrs. Jolly, 3 sons, James of Virginia , Robert of Windrock, and John of Knoxville; 2 sisters,Mrs WC Warren and Mrs. George Glendinge (sic) (should be Glenndening) both of Cambridge, Mass. Mr. Robert Faulkner passes on Sunday - Mr. Robert Carl Faulkner, age 72, of 900 N Chamberlain St., Rockwood, Passed away on Sunday at Chamberlain Memorial Hospital. Graveside services at the Oddfellows Cemetery were held on Tue. with Bro. Tom Compton officiating. Booth Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.Survivors include 2 nieces, Mrs Carrie Ross, Rockwood, Mrs Elizabeh Byrd, Seattle Washington; 1 nephew, Mr. Bill jolly, Yucaiper(sic) (should be YUCAIPA), California. GREEN, Sarah
Funeral for Mrs Sarah Green, Sunday - Beloved Rockwood Woman Passes Friday After Suffering Stroke July 28. Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Minic Green, aged 80, who died Friday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Smith, were conducted Sunday from the First Methodist Church by the pastor, the Rev. W.R. Rollins. Dr. James C. Orr assisted. Interment was in the Oddfellows Cemetery. A large number of sorrowing friends were in attendance and the floral tributes were many and beautiful. Mrs. Green was born March 26, 1866 in Rhea County, and came to Rockwood in 1916. Her husband, Thomas Jefferson Green, died March 8, 1921.She united with the Friendship Methodist Church near Rhea Springs in early life, and moved her membership to Rockwood when she came here to live.She was faithful in attendance and lived a beautiful Christian life.The day she was stricken, Sunday, July 28,Mrs. Green had prepared to go to Sunday School, but had been persuaded by her daughter it would be too tiring on such a warm day. JOLLY, Charles Edward
Charles Edward Jolly, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Jolly of Rockwood , Tennessee, born September 16,1910, died May 23, 1921, at the age of 10 years, 8 months and 9 days. The little fellow was sick but a few days, suffered much, but never complained. He seemed to realize that death was near and he smiled when he thought of heaven. Charles was a very likeable and loveable boy. All who knew him wanted to be his friend and companion. He was a member of Allen Montgomery's Sunday School class and has recently joined The Christian Church. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at the Christian Church.Burial services were held in the Oddfellows Cemetery, Dr. Leland Cook officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jolly, 84, a retired Blacksmith for Tennessee Products, who died Tuesday,are to be held Thursday afternoon from the Church of Christ with Bro. Howard Reece officiating. Surviving are wife, Hattie Belle Jolly, Rockwood; children: Tom Jolly, Kalamazoo, Mich., Mrs John Byrd, Everett, Wash., Clay C. Jolly, Dayton, Ohio,Mrs. Carrie M. Ross, Rockwood, and Bill Jolly, Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, George Atwood, Charleston, S.C., and one sister, Mrs. Betty Davis, Chatanooga. Interment will be in Oddfelows Cemetery. NEWCOME, Lela
Mrs. Lela Newcome, age 88, passed away Sunday, December 15,1968, at the Chamberlain Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday , December 18, 1968, from the
Pond Grove Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Fayte Wilson and Rev. Charles Kelly officiating. Surviving are five sons, Leonard, Houston, Fred, Paul and Edsel Newcome all of Rockwood ; three daughters, Mrs. Clema Watson, Rockwood ; Mrs. Anderson Branam, Newport, Tenn. ; Mrs. Carl Tankersley, Chattanooga, Tenn. ; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Remer, Dandridge, Tenn. ; Twenty-five grand-children and 2 great-grand-children.

STEGALL, Dr. Lemuel Auskar
Died at his residence on the Southside, near Bethel church, on March 13, 1915. Dr. Stegall was born on May 15th, 1848, in Forsythe county, Georgia Removed to this country ealry in life and here married Miss Belle Hood, who survives him, together with seven children: Walter and Will, who live in Harriman; Clifford and Albert, who live on the farm at home; Mrs. Elmer Proffitt, who lives nearby, and two daughters at home - Misses Lucy and Robbie. One child, a daughter, Jessie, died several years ago. (Read the full obit)
