DEED of Conveyance: Richard Waterhouse to James NEAL, 230 acres of land on the Waters of Muddy Creek; 23 July 1811.

This Indenture made this 23 day of July in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eleven between Richard G. WATERHOUSE of the County of Rhea and State of Tennessee of the one part and James NEAL of the County and State aforesaid of the other part - Witnesseth - That whereas the State of North Carolina did on the Twentieth day of July in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Six [1796]. Grant unto Stockley DONELSON nineteen Thousand acres of land by Patents No. 278 and whereas the Said Richard G. Waterhouse claiming title to the same by virtue of several Deeds of Conveyance derived from claims founded on the aforesaid Grants as will appear of Record in the Registers office of Said Rhea County within which County the Said tracts of land now lyith. Now Know Ye that the said Richard G. Waterhouse for and in consideration of the Sum of Two Hundred and thirty Dollars to him in hand paid the receipts where of is hereby acknowledged hath and by these present doth grant bargain and sell, remise, release, surrender alien, enfee off and confirm unto the Said James NEAL his heirs and assigns forever the following described piece or parcel of land containing Two Hundred and Thirty [230] acres of land be the same more or less being a part of the aforesaid tract of nineteen thousand acres and lying in the County of Rhea aforesaid on the Waters of Muddy Creek and camp Creek - Beginning on a large Black Oak tree near the top of the Ridge which divides the waters of Muddy Creek from the waters of Camp Creek. Thence south Fifty five degree East crossing a Head Branch of Muddy Creek one hundred and twenty two Poles to Paste oak and Pointers. Thence North thirty degrees East Three hundred Poles to a Stake. Thence North Fifty five degrees West One Hundred and Twenty Two Poles to a Stake, Thence a direct line to the beginning including the place where the said James NEAL now lives, Surveyed the 8th day of June 1811. With all and Singular the woods, waters, water courses, profits, commodities, hereditaments and appurtenances to the said piece or parcel of land belonging or appertaining, and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents and issues there of and all the estate right, title, interest, property claim and demand of him the Said Richard G. Waterhouse his heirs and assigns forever, of, in and to the Same and every part and parcel thereof either in law or eqity to have and to hold the said Two Hundred and Thirty acres of land with the appurtenances unto the Said James NEAL his heirs and assigns forever against all and every right, title, claim, and demand of him the said Richard G. Waterhouse and his heirs and all and every person or persons whatsoever claiming title thereto by virtue of any right, title, or claim of him the Said Richard G. Waterhouse and no others will warrant and forever and it is fully understood by and between the partys that no recourse is to be had on him the said Richard G. Waterhouse. Should this title be insufficient to enable him the Said James NEAL to hold the same.
