{"id":647,"date":"2011-12-10T20:54:36","date_gmt":"2011-12-11T02:54:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/rhea2\/?p=647"},"modified":"2011-12-10T20:54:36","modified_gmt":"2011-12-11T02:54:36","slug":"deed-matthew-neal-to-james-neal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/rhea\/deed-matthew-neal-to-james-neal\/","title":{"rendered":"Deed: Matthew Neal to James Neal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DEED of Conveyance; Matthew Neal &amp; James\u00a0Neal to Richard Philpot for 230 acres of land on Camp Creek, Rhea County,\u00a0Tennessee: Book E, Page 37. 18 April 1815.<\/p>\n<p>This deed of conveyance made this eighteenth\u00a0day of April one thousand eight hundred and fifteen between <strong>Matthew Neal\u00a0<\/strong>and <strong>James Neal<\/strong> of the County of Rhea and State of Tennessee of the one\u00a0part and <strong>Richard Philpott<\/strong> of the County of Rhea and State aforesaid of\u00a0the other part. Witnesseth, that the said<strong> Matthew Neal<\/strong> and <strong>James Neal<\/strong><br \/>\nfor and in consideration of three hundred dollars to therein hand paid the\u00a0receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath and by these pursuits doth grant,\u00a0bargain and sell unto the said <strong>Richard Philpott<\/strong> his heirs and assigns\u00a0forever a certain piece or parcel of land containing two hundred and thirty\u00a0acres be the same more or less lying in said Rhea County on <em>camp Creek\u00a0<\/em>.~ Beginning at two poplars some distance below the boiling spring, one on each\u00a0side of the <em>Spring branch<\/em>, thence South fifty five East one hundred and<br \/>\neleven poles to a black oak and post oak pointer; thence North fifty West sixty\u00a0poles to stake; Then North thirty five West thirty four Poles to a post oak on\u00a0a condisionable [?] line by the said partys; thence North thirty eight West\u00a0fifty six poles too a white oak and hickory; thence North Forty seven West\u00a0seventy two poles to two dogwoods and hickory at the head of a spring; thence\u00a0South thirty West to a black oak or Spanish oak marked by <strong>Richard G.\u00a0Waterhouse<\/strong>; thence South Fifty East one hundred poles to the beginning. ~<br \/>\nBeing part of a grant No. 223 of six hundred acres issued by the State of North\u00a0Carolina to Stockley <strong>Donelson<\/strong> and dated the 20 day of September 1787.\u00a0With all and Singular the herieditaments and of appurtenances whatsoever to the\u00a0said piece or parcel of land belonging or in any wise\u00a0appertaining, and all the estate, right,\u00a0title, interest, property claims and demand of them the said <strong>Matthew Neal\u00a0<\/strong>and <strong>James Neal<\/strong> of in and to the same is then in law or equity. To have\u00a0and to hold the said two hundred and thirty acres of land unto the said <strong>Richard\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Philpott<\/strong> his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful title claims and\u00a0demand of all and every person or person whatsoever will warrant and forever\u00a0defend by these present. In witness whereof the said <strong>Matthew Neal<\/strong> and <strong>James\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Neal<\/strong> hath hereunto set their hand and seal, this day and date above\u00a0written.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Matthew Neal\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>{Seal}<\/p>\n<p>Signed sealed and delivered in presents of us\u00a0\u00a0<strong><em>James Neal<\/em><\/strong> {Seal}<\/p>\n<p><strong>James UPTON ,\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Reuben Philpot<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>State of Tennessee } July Sessions 1816 &#8211;\u00a0Then was the execution of this deed proved in open Court by the oaths of Rhea\u00a0County Court <strong>James Upton\u00a0<\/strong>and <strong>Reuben Philpot<\/strong>. Let it be registered.
