CURRY CEMETERY
Curry Cemetery, February 2001
Curry Cemetery is located off Jones Hollow Road on a hillside in a pasture. It is well maintained. Its exact age is difficult to estimate. Most marked burials are 20th century. However there is a rock cairn burial that usually denote early to mid nineteenth century burials. There are 16 molded concrete markers cores which are usually used for painted homemade markers; none have readable information in 2004. Six of these blank cores are in the McCoy row. Total number of unmarked graves is difficult to estimate but probably is at least three dozen. About 20 yards south of the Curry Cemetery fence gate is the Byler Cemetery.
David Donahue recorded Curry Cemetery February 23, 2001; updated it September 30, 2002; and checked and updated it September 28, 2004. Mary (Stewart) Bowen and Melissa (Snyder) Bowen recorded the cemetery in the early 1990s. Their record appears in Mary Bowen's Perry County, Tennessee Cemetery Records (Vol. I). This earlier record is referred to as Bowen in the notes below.
