ARY CEMETERY
Ary Cemetery on Sinking Creek, June 2000
This is a 2004 updated and reformatted record of Ary Cemetery based on the June 25, 2000 record of the cemetery made by Will Ary. Will Ary describes the cemetery thus:
This cemetery is located on Ary Cemetery Road just off Sinking Creek Road on the north side of Sinking Creek, sitting on top of a knoll. The land for this cemetery was donated by William M. Ary who operated a casket making business from a building that stood at the foot of the hill south of the cemetery. The cemetery is on roughly three acres of land with about half inside a three foot high concrete block wall enclosure. All visible graves are within the enclosure. A pavilion and an outhouse to the west of the enclosure provides facilities for family reunions. The cemetery is very well kept up and is still in use. Several family members have reserved spaces. There is also enough vacant space for future use.
