Rickey Bernard Beard was born in Jackson, Tennessee in March 1959, the son of Ms. Bobbie Lou Beard and F. L. Lewis. He departed this life Thursday, November 7, 1985 at 201 Middleton Street, Jackson, Tennessee.
Rickey received his education in the Jackson City School System. He graduated from Jackson-Central Merry High School in 1978 and attended Jackson State Community College.
He united with the Mays Hill Baptist Church in Hickory Valley, Tennessee at an early age. He later joined the Macedonia Baptist Church where he retained his membership until his passing.
Rickey was an amateur boxer for 12 years and a high school wrestler. He was a National Boxing Champion and a professional boxer for 3 years. His occupation was a construction worker and a plumber.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Ms. Bobbie Lou Beard; his father, F. L. Lewis; two sisters, Ms. Dale Marie Beard and Ms. Corean Beard; five brothers, Jackie Glenn, Ralph Eric, Aubrey Wayne, and Obie Beard, and Benjamin Lewis, all of Jackson; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Annie B. Minter, Hickory Valley; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Velma Murphy, Bolivar; a niece, Erica Lewis, Jackson; a number of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
