Located about nine miles southwest of Jackson, Tennessee via Steam Hill Ferry Road. Situated on a bluff on the south side of Johnson's Creek about 150 feet east of a cotton field, about .2 mile southeast of Mount Pinson Road. These large, rectangular tombstones have all fallen.

In his will, Frederick Mayo left 20 acres to his /second/ wife, Kitty, "including my dwelling house and other improvements" for life except "one half acre of land immediately around my family burying ground. This I reserve & give to no person." (Madison Co. Will Book 7, page 9)
