A GENEALOGICAL MISCELLANY, MADISON COUNTY, TENNESSEE
By Jonathan K. T. Smith
Copyright, Jonathan K. T. Smith, 1996NAMES AND DATES FROM TOMBSTONES IN MT. TABOR CEMETERY
(Page 32)
In 1963 the late Mr. Roy W. Black, Sr. of Bolivar, Tennessee made a good listing of the tombstone inscriptions in this cemetery but as there are numerous errors in this listing, the present writer copied the names and dates from the tombstones there on January 14, 1996. It is with humility that anyone attempts to correct errors made by previous researchers as one makes one's own share of mistakes. The directions, north and south, indicated by Mr. Black are also partially faulty in his listing. He started "Beginning at NW corner, working to south" when actually he started at the SW corner, working to the north.
