[THIS MARGARET C. RUSSELL IS A DAUGHTER OF JESSE RUSSELL SR.
Jesse Russell Sr. is buried in Lot 165, Riverside Cemetery]
LOT 291, RUSSELL
JESSE RUSSELL, JR. CAN BE FOUND IN THE 1860 MADISON COUNTY CENSUS, PAGE 213A.
NOTE THAT MARRIED WITHIN THE YEAR IS CHECKED BY HIS NAME AND THAT OF M. J. RUSSELL AND THAT HE IS LIVING IN A BOARDING HOUSE OWNED BY M. C. TEAGUE.
NOTICE SARAH TEAGUE IS 13 IN THIS CENSUS. IN THE 1850 CENSUS WE FIND ABNER TEAGUE MARRIED TO MARTHA C. TEAGUE WITH DAUGHTERS MARTHA J. AND SARAH (Page 217A).
MY THEORY IS THAT THE STONE NOTED BY INGRAM JAMES IS THAT OF JESSE’S FIRST WIFE, MARTHA J. TEAGUE, WHOM HE MARRIED IN 1860 ALTHOUGH I HAVE FOUND NO RECORD FOR THIS MARRIAGE EXCEPT THE 1860 CENSUS. INGRAM JAMES' DATE MAKES SENSE IF WE ASSUME HE MISREAD 1862 AS 1852.]
