Quoting from "Historic Madison" The first settlements were made near Medon about 1825. Among the settlers were Mauldin Reeves, Stephen Lacy. The Methodist in the Medon community began meeting in the home of Mauldin Reeves in 1826 & met here for 10 yrs before a log church was constructed on land furnished by Wm. R. Reeves. This became known as Reeves Chapel.
