FLY CEMETERY
Fly Cemetery lies northwest of the intersection of State Highway 152 and Hughes Road. Turn north of Hughes road, drive a few hundred yards, then turn left/west of a grassy dirt field road that goes to the cemetery. The last burial in Fly Cemetery was in 1970. The cemetery is overgrown. Several graves are marked with fieldstones.
David Donahue recorded Fly cemetery May 8, 2004. William B. Elam recorded Fly Cemetery circa 1971, not long after the last burial. His record appears in Family Findings, Vol. III, No. 2, April 1971, p. 74 and in Cemetery Records of Madison County, Tennessee, Volume II The Northern Half of County (Mid-West Tennessee Genealogical Society, 1998, pp. 105-106). This is referred to Elam in notes below. Mr. Elam counted 15 graves with fieldstones.
