DENMARK PRESBYTERIAN CEMETERY
Denmark Presbyterian cemetery is a wonderful place to visit. The cemetery is well maintained, it is full of shade trees, and it has a large collection of antebellum markers.
This record of the cemetery below was submitted by Louise Stevens. It is based on the 1977 record of the cemetery by Robert and Wilma Nolen. Ms, Stevens has added information from new burials and new markers erected between 1977 and 2003. The list submitted by Ms. Stevens had been retyped and alphabetized by Joann Birmingham. For the list presented below, the 1977 Nolen record was used to restore information about markers serving multiple people.

________, James A., d. Aug. 3, 1869, Aged 35 Years
In a letter which accompanied the cemetery listing, Mrs. Stevens wrote:
I grew up here in Denmark when there were quite a few more homes, stores, and families. I have watched the town shrink to the post office, Presbyterian church and a very few people. I'm the last surviving member of the church (disbanded). Next year the church building will be 150 years old. The oldest grave is 1824 apparently.
The church and cemetery are very dear to my heart and I do whatever I can to look after both. Quite a few people call, write, and come, because they have ancestors who lived here at one time. There is a Methodist cemetery (no church left) and a Baptist cemetery, called "the Old soldiers Cemetery" which is back of my home lot here, where the May tornado left quite a bit of tree damage.
