CENTER POINT BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERIES
These cemeteries are located on Potts Chapel Road in eastern Madison County, Tennessee. The newer of the cemeteries is located behind the Center Point Baptist Church building. The older cemetery is located beside Potts Chapel Road about 0.2 mile south of the church. Both cemeteries were recorded on July 20, 2003. At that time there were at least 5 unidentified burials in the cemetery behind the church and at least 13 unidentified burials in the cemetery beside the road.
Both cemeteries were recorded earlier by Jonathan K. T. Smith. A 1995 record appears in his Tombstone Inscriptions from Black Cemeteries in Madison County, Tennessee and a 2000 update appears in his Tombstone Inscriptions from Black Cemeteries in Madison County, Tennessee, Volume 2. These works are referred to collectively as Smith in the notes below.
