Obituary
Walter Edward Titnberlake, the oldest of six children was born April 25, 1907 to the late [lance and Hettie Parker Timberlake. He departed this life on Tuesday, April 27, 1999 at Lexington Manor Nursing Center in Lexington.
Edward attended school in Henderson County. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with Timberlake Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained a faithful member until his health failed him. He served as a deacon and held the position of treasurer for many years. He loved his church, working hard to reorganize the members when they drifted apart. In 1974, when the new church was erected, he was one of the deacons who was proud to be named on the cornerstone. Christianity does not, however, exempt one from death; it only insures triumph over death. Moses died, Paul died, Jesus died, and all must die. There is no other entrance into our Heavenly Father's house. Although we knew he was not well, his ambition kept his real condition hidden from us; but our Lord knew and in His own time He relieved him of his earthly woes.
He united in Holy Matrimony on April 24, 1926 with Ervie Parker. To this union, five children were born. One child died in early infancy and a son, Lewis Edward Timberlake preceded him in death in September 1992.
