The Obituary

            Adell Arnold was born in Huron, Henderson County, Tennessee on September 18, 1936 to the late Dan and Appie J. Arnold. He attended Montgomery High School. He joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served for six years. He married Ann Ford. He had one stepson, Trvel Ford and one granddaughter, Calvina "Baby Girl" Ford. He departed this life on Saturday, April 25, 1998 at his home in Detroit, MI

            He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife, Ann Arnold of Detroit, MI; four brothers, Deroy Arnold of Chicago, IL, William Paul "Pete" Arnold of Jackson, TN, Vernell (Allie Mae) Arnold of Lexington, TN and James (Alice) Arnold of Jackson, TN; one lovely aunt, Mrs. Ella Mae Cawthon and a lovely nephew, Bill "Old Bill" and wife, Frances, and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.

OBITUARY

            On the morning of February 29, 1968, the Angel of silence came to the Henderson County Hospital, and with chilly fingers sealed the lips of Mrs. Clara Cathey Carver. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age, and united with St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained until death. She was married to Mr. Floyd R. Carver December 26, 1926; to this union 9 children were born, 2 preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing, a husband, Mr. Floyd R. Carver; 4 sons, Mr. George Carver, Mr. Laymon Carver, all of Lexington, Tennessee, Mr. Ben Carver and Mr. Robert Carver, both of Nashville, Tennessee; 3 daughters, Mrs. Ruby Gene Ellis, Miss Nelie Mae Carver and Miss Carolyn Ann Carver, all of Lexington, Tennessee; a sister, Mrs. Janie Carver, Lexington, Tennessee; 3 brothers, Mr. Clarence Cathey of Nashville, Tennessee, Mr. Issiah Cathey of South Bend. Ind., Mr. Cecil Cathey of Lexington, Tennessee; 2 aunts, Mrs. Alpha Kizer and Mrs. Raleigh Harmon; 4 uncles, 15 grand children, 18 nephews and 8 nieces, other relatives and friends.

OBITUARY

            We are placed in this world for a limited time, and with the breath of the infant begins the race to the grave. On Thursday night June 19, 1986, the death angels came to the Lexington Methodist Hospital and bore the spirit of Floyd R. Carver away to a land that is free from the sorrows of this world.

            Floyd Carver was born in Henderson County, February 23, 1905, son of the late Judge Pearson and Mary Carver. He was a retired railroad worker.

            Mr. Carver professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with St. Paul Baptist Church where he remained until his death.

            He leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters: Carolyn Carver, Nelie Kizer and Ruby Ellis, all of Lexington, TN; four sons: Ben T. Carver, Laymon Carver, George Carver, all of Lexington, TN, and Robert Carver of Denver,Colorado; two sons-in-law; three daughters-in-law; 24 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

            Hurtis Lavon Carver was born July 14, 1950 in Lexington, Tennessee to the late Roy and Janie Carver. He was reared in Lexington and Henderson County and had lived here all of his life. He attended the public schools of the county and was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church. He departed this life September 18, 1980 at the Lexington-Henderson County General Hospital.

          He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mrs. Josephine Carver, Lexington; one daughter, Andrea Carver, Lexington; three step-sons, Gregory Lyn McGill, Kenneth Lee McGill and Rodney Bernard McGill, all of Lexington; two step-daughters, Angela K. and Bernice Renee McGill, both of Lexington; three sisters, Mrs. Alene Thompson, Mrs. Addie Easley and Mrs. Nelma Sue Johnson, all of Lexington; six brothers, Royal Carver, Howard Carver, C. H.             BETTY JEAN FAULKNER was born to the parentage of Louise and the late Lester Moffitt in Luray, Tennessee. Her father, husband Emmett Faulkner, and brother, Troy Moffitt, preceded her in death. She departed this Life on Friday, December 13, 1991 at Wyandotte General Hospital, Wyandotte, Michigan.

            She received her education and religious training in Tennessee.

            She leaves to rejoice at her having lived and to cherish her memory, her loving mother, Mrs. Louise Moffitt of Lexington, TN; her devoted daughter, Charlotte Moffitt of Detroit, MI; seven step-children, Emmett, Jr., Keuvin, Cidla, Villa, Darling, Harriett and Lavonia; two sisters, Katherine Ford of Lexington, TN and Georgia Buck of Champaign, Ill.; three brothers, Edward Moffitt of Lexington, Jimmy Joe Moffitt of Illinois and Bobby Jean Moffitt of Indiana; and a very devoted niece, Calvin Ann Arnold of Detroit and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

            Mrs. Beulah Mae Priddy was born Feb. 14, 1917 to the late Escue and Levie Mackey. She departed this life on Monday April 1, 1991 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

            Mrs. Priddy professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Lexington, Tennessee.

            She was married to the late Samuel Priddy. To this union, six children were born, three of whom preceded her in death, Mrs. Peggy Moffitt, Mr. Loyel Priddy, and Samuel Boyd Priddy, Jr.

            She leaves to mourn two daughters, Mrs. Bennie Sue (James Earl) Johnson of Lexington, Tennessee, Mrs. Eloise (Elvin) James of Atlanta, Georgia, one son Mr. Billy Roy Priddy, one sister Mrs. Lena Mackey, one brother Mr. O. C. (Martha) Mackey, one sister-in-law Mrs. Esther Carver, one brother-in- law Mr. James Priddy, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and frends.
