In Henderson County Court Minute Book K, 1891-1893, page 187 is this record:

TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Know ye that WILLIAM MOSIER, a private of Captain Wm. Chandlers Company "G", 6th Tennessee Cavalry Volunteers, who was enroled on the 25th day of August one thousand eight hundred and sixty two to serve three years or during the "war" is hereby discharged from the service of the United States to date the 6th day of August 1864 under the provisions of Sec.1l of the Act of Congress appd. Mch. 25th 1889.

No objection to his being re-enlisted is known to exist. Said WILLIAM MOSIER was born in Henderson Co. in the State of Tennessee, was 18 years of age, 6 feet __ inches high, "fair" complexion, eyes blue, dark hair and his occupation when enroled a tanner. Given at Washington, D. C. this sixth day of October 1890. By authority of the Secretary of War.
