HOWARD CEMETERY

Located in north Henderson County about 3 miles west of Highway 22 via Strayleaf, Longsought and Hamilton Roads. Situated on south side of Hamilton Road about .4 mile west of this road's juncture with Longsought Road. This is an old-time white cemetery with members of the Howard and Flake families buried here. Several graves unmarked except for sandstone rocks. Death certificates indicate burial of several black persons here.

NATHAN TAYLOR, Feb. 26, 1896-April 2, 1916
BURL STANFORD, died January 14, 1921, aged about 81 years
Mrs. SARAH CHAPPELL, died May 22, 1914, aged about 50 years
