OLD HOPEWELL CEMETERY
(Also called Hopewell Hill)

Located in north Henderson County about 4 miles southeast of Yuma, Tennessee via the Yuma Road. Situated on a small rise just to the east of Dabbs Creek. There are no known tombstones at this location. Mr. R. B. Morgan (born July 1912), who grew up in this area, pointed out this cemetery to the compiler and Mr. Robert D. Taylor, Jr., March 27, 1995. He had personal knowledge of he burial there of Ellick Taylor and Buddy Taylor (died 1940s). It was once the burial ground for members of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church that moved farther north and is known as New Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.

One name was apparently found on a marker of some description or else its bearer was said to be buried there, reported on page 40 of the HENDERSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE CEMETERY INSCRIPTIONS (1976): ISAH GOOCH.
