SCOTTS HILL METHODIST CHURCH
This is the largest cemetery in the Scotts Hill area of Henderson County and probably the second largest cemetery in Henderson County. It is located at Scotts Hill Methodist Church. The cemetery is well maintained, and there is little to no marker loss here except for ordinary marker weathering, which is worst for small marble infant markers. David Donahue recorded this cemetery initially January 18 and 19, 1992. He checked and updated it November 4 and 6, 2001.
Two earlier records are available for this cemetery. Anita Webb and Alicia Adcox recorded this cemetery circa 1975. Their record appears in Henderson County, Tennessee Cemetery Inscriptions (Memphis, R. H. Harris, 1976), Vol. III, pp. 614-630. This earlier work is referred to as "Webb and Adcox" in the notes below. Webb and Adcox noted 35 unmarked graves.
Blanche Tuten and Margarett Alexander recorded this cemetery in April 1978. Their record appears in Decatur County, Tennessee Cemetery Records published by the Captain Daniel A. Wesson Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Parsons, Tennessee, 1984. This is referred to as the "UDC transcription" in the notes below.
