Joy Beth Campbell recorded the cemetery on April 15, 1998 (David Donahue updated the cemetery on October 14, 2003) and compared it with the 1976 record by Joel James which appeared as "James or McVay Cemetery" in Henderson County, Tennessee Cemetery Inscriptions (Memphis; R. H. Harris, 1976), pp. 41-42.
