ANDERSON CEMETERY
This is one of two Anderson cemeteries in Henderson County. It is located on the west side of Hooper Road, about 0.6 mile north of Highway 412. The cemetery is kept cleared off but does not really seem to be maintained. It probably is full within its borders. There are more than a dozen graves unmarked or marked in some manner without names. The two wooden slabs shaped to resemble markers are present. Both were at one time painted white. At least one of the two once had black lettering. Neither is readable now.
Brenda and Stacy Fiddler recorded this cemetery circa 1976. Their record appears in Henderson County, Tennessee Cemetery Inscriptions (R. H. Harris, Memphis, 1976), Vol. I, pp. 141-142. This earlier work is referred to as "Fiddlers" in the notes below. This record is an update of the Fiddlers' record. The cemetery was visited April 2, 1998.
