Celebrating the Homegoing of
Mrs Willie Mae Hunt
1936-1998
Our dear mother, Mrs. Willie Mae Hunt, daughter of the late Joe Allen Yarbrough and Mary Irene Tolliver was born September 24, 1936 in Decaturville, Tennessee. She departed this earthly life on Monday, March 30, 1998 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Ms. Willie, as she was called throughout the county, professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She attended Decatur County Training School and Crowder High School, graduating in 1955. After graduation, Ms. Willie relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana, where she had a full life. She became a member of Garfield Missionary Baptist and later a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in the choir. She was a faithful and devoted member to each. Ms. Willie loved children and humanity. She was a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts of America and a community inspiration.
She returned to Decatur County in November of 1989 where she reunited with her childhood church, New Hope. She served as a faithful member and choir member until her time of death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Barbara A. Miles, Mary I. Ford and Victoria L. Davis, all of Tennessee; three sons, Micheal A. (Regina) Miles of Pensacola, FL, Kenneth A. Stewart of Indianapolis IN; one sister, Lola (Benard) Levi of Indianapolis, IN; one brother, Jerry P. (Dera) Yarbrough of Indianapolis, IN; fourteen grandchildren who she loved dearly, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
