1890-1977Professor James Luther Seets (1890-1972), a native of Benton County, Tennessee, son of William J. and Ida (Moore) Seets, was educated at Tuskegee and Lane Colleges; in 1924 he led in the founding of the school that became Webb School in McKenzie over which he administered until 1957, encouraging young black folk towards education and improvements of their lives. He was an outstanding citizen and human being of this vicinity.
