   Letissa REDDAN'S father was from Ireland; he married and had five children and then disappeared on a trip. Lettie's son, John THURMAN (1864) was living with Burt REDDAN (1848) and family which included his mother, Matilda REDDAN in the 1880 Polk Co. census.  I believe this is Lettie's family, but have no proof. No 297 McELROY, WOMBLE:  I am searching for information on Andrew McELROY born 1855 in Ducktown Tennessee, died in Roane County. I have heard that his father was Peter, born in Ireland and he had a brother named Peter. His mother has been shown as Amanda WOMBLE, or HIGGINS or even may be WIGGINS. No 298 EARLEY, JENKINS: My great-grandmother, Josephine SMITH came to Polk County from Springplace, Murray Co., GA and worked for a Doctor Prince at Parksville. She married a JENKINS from NC, but I have found no records of this. Her daughter Cora, b. 1885-9 married Francis EARLEY, Sr. on November 7, 1915; they are in the 1920 Fannin County GA census with children George W., Nellie E., Woodrow and stepdaughter, Mae JENKINS. Later siblings were Albert Jackson, Margaret and William. All except Mae were placed in an orphanage in August 1926 since Francis had died and Cora was in poor health and unable to care for them.. Cora died between 1926 and 1930 but I am unable to find any death record for her either in Polk or Fannin County. Your help with this family needed and appreciated. No 303 GEE: Need proof of the connection between my Eason GEE of Pendleton District SC and John Henry GEE of Polk County. Eason died 1794 leaving wife Abigail DAVIS GEE and 4 small children: Jeremiah, Joannah, John and Samuel. Abigail remarried in 1808 to William BENNETT.
