Perry County, Tennessee
Conder Cemetery analysis
Contributed by: Jan Monnin |
25 November 2009 |
This was an old abandoned
cemetery, investigated during the building of the Kentucky Reservoir
between August 1942 and December 1943. This cemetery
contained no monuments.
Conder Cemetery is
discussed in
James L. Douthat's book Kentucky Lake Reservoir Cemeteries, Volume
3. This is referred to as Douthat in
notes below. Douthat may have worked with original handwritten records.
The Douthat work includes maps showing the relative positions of the
seven graves in the original and relocation cemeteries. The
following is the link to the digital image of this book:

There are
a couple known transcriptions of this cemetery:
-
This cemetery was catalogued and
relatives interviewed about this burials for the Kentucky Lake Reservoir
Project. Remain permits were executed on the graves of the
five persons known to have been buried here, but the exact location of
the graves was unknown. So further action was not taken.
Cora Nunley, granddaughter, was interviewed about this cemetery.

In the list below, I’ve started with what is recorded on
the
new searchable TnGenWeb site, compared it to the other transcriptions and
made a note of any differences.
