\nFuneral services for Cecil Allen Parnell, 50, of Detroit, formerly of Linden, will be at 2 p.m. today at the\u00a0 Chestnut Grove Church of Christ.\u00a0 Bill Ruhl will officiate.\u00a0 Burial will be in the church cemetery with Masonic rites.<\/p>\n
Parnell, an employee of a Detroit automobile plant, died in Detroit Monday, after a long illness.\u00a0 He was a native of\u00a0 Perry County, son of the late Robert and Nina Black Parnell.\u00a0 He was a Mason. \u00a0 He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lena Shelton Parnell; three sons, Paul and Teddy Parnell,Detroil, Don Parnell, Nashville; a sister, Mrs. Rene Jackson, Linden; three brothers, Wallace Parnell, Nashville, Joe Parnell, Aetna, Tenn, J.D. Parnell, Centerville, Tenn., and four grandchildren.<\/p>\n
From the Nashville newspaper: November 7, 1960: Cecil Allen Parnell, 49, of Detroil, formerly of Linden, died Monday morning in a Detroil hospital after an illness of two months. Funeral sevices will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Linden. The Linden Masonic Lodge will be in charge. Mr. Parnell, a native of Linden and the son of the late Jesse Robert and Nina Black Parnell, moved to Detroil about 20 years ago and had been connected with the automobile industry there.\u00a0 Survivors include his widow, the former Lena Shelton; three sons, Paul and Ted Parnell of Detroit and\u00a0 Don Parnell of Nashville; a sister, Mrs. Loyd Jackson of Linden; three brothers, Wallace Parnell of Nashville; J.
