Migration to/from Overton County

Some remained in the area. Others moved to Missouri, Arkansas, etc.
John WINTON moved from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia to the French Broad Settlement by 1785. He sold a tract of land to John TURNLEY about 1788 and moved to Muddy Creek, Roane County, TN, where he was a preacher.
Some of his children/grandchildren moved to Overton County, TN, in the early to mid 1800’s.
