Most of their descendants remained in the Overton / Putnam County area of TN.

John Abishua WATSON and his wife, Mildred HUGHES, lived in Pittsylvania Co. VA. Their son, John Saul WATSON and his wife, Lucy SMITH, were born and married at Pittsylvania County, VA. They migrated to Dry Valley, Putnam/Overton County, TN, by about 1835 when their son, Thomas Townsend WATSON, migrated.

Their son, Thomas Townsend WATSON and his wife, Sabra BENNETT, were married February 11, 1834, at Pittsylvania Co, Va. They had 10 children who lived in Dry Valley in the Overton, later Putnam County, TN, area. Their descendants live in the area today. Some family members married into the family of Henry VERBLE.
