Pickett County Public and Private Legislative Acts – Law Enforcement
Historical Notes
Sheriff
The following act has no current effect but is included here for reference purposes since it once applied to the Pickett County Sheriff’s Office.
- Private Acts of 1949, Chapter 695, provided that the Sheriff of Pickett County would be paid a sum not less than $150 monthly out of the county treasury as compensation for patrol work and protective services since the general law provisions then in effect were declared not to provide sufficient compensation for Pickett County to obtain the services of competent and suitable persons for the office of Sheriff.
